U.S. Deaths Per Day

Approximately 9 people are killed each day in the United States from crashes reported to involve a distracted driver. Over 1,000 are injured from crashes of this nature.


3 Types of Distraction

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the three types of distracted driving are visual (taking your eyes off the road), manual (taking your hands off the wheel), and cognitive (taking your mind off of driving).


Texting While Driving

Sending a text message means taking your eyes off the road for about 5 seconds. This amount of time is long enough to cover the entire length of a football field while driving at 55 MPH.


U.S. Injuries in 2015

In 2015, 391,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver. That’s over a quarter of a million injuries from distracted driving!
