A recent study from the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs shows a correlation between the legalization of marijuana and an increase in car accidents. Because of the wide spread of effects on marijuana users, testing for impairment is difficult. If a driver tests positive for THC, they are not necessarily impaired. Rather, it depends on the "dose, the route of administration, and the frequency of use among individuals, as well as whether cannabis has been consumed alone or in combination with alcohol or other substances." (ICADTSinternational). For this reason, drivers should use Otorize to check for impairment, rather than the presence of THC, in order to drive safely on the roads and prevent accidents.
